''Josh'' (; ) is a 2000 Indian Hindi-language romantic musical film directed by Mansoor Khan, produced by Venus Films and distributed by B4U Films. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Chandrachur Singh, Sharad Kapoor, and Priya Gill. The film, primarily in Hindi with occasional Konkani, was set and filmed in Goa. With some plot points inspired by the 1961 musical ''West Side Story'', the film is set in the year 1980, amidst the backdrop of real estate deals and communal violence in Goa. Mansoor Khan
Mohammed Mansoor Hussain Khan (born 30 May 1958) is an Indian film director and producer known for his works in Hindi cinema. Early and personal life He is the son of film-maker Nasir Hussain. Khan attended IIT Bombay, Cornell University, and MIT before making his foray into Hindi cinema. Khan is settled in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu with his wife Tina, where he indulges in farming. Their children are daughter Zayn Marie, an actress, and son Pablo. Film career Khan made his directorial debut with the super-hit ''Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'' (1988), for which Khan received the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, and the Filmfare Award for Best Director for that year.
